We're excited to offer our latest tried horse purchase, unraced 4yo staying gelding Open Sky {Dundeel (NZ)}, from the mare Just Divine {Fastnet Rock}.
Open Sky was originally purchased by a Hong Kong syndicate at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in 2020 for $110,000. He was offered as a genuine sale to dissolve the ownership group due to a dispute, and we were thrilled to pick him up on the Inglis Digital online sale for $16,000.
The horse is completely sound, with no vices (see attached vet report).
Open Sky was given two trials in December of 2021, in which he performed very well over short course distance's and was then spelled until stepping out again at the trials in November 2022.
The thing that sparked our interest in Open Sky was his latest trial at Warwick Farm on November 4. Open Sky finished 3rdover 797m, and although beaten 6L the time was 45.81 seconds, the second fastest time of the morning for the 12 x heats at the same distance range, and they ran home the last 600m in 32.65. Very smart time, and when you consider Open Sky will get much further in distance it was a very good trial from him.

The winner of that trial, Parrying {Counterattack} ran 3rd first-up at Newcastle as favourite on November 15, and of the horse's that finished behind Open Sky, Ovoid {Exceed And Excel} has since run 3rd in a Newcastle maiden on November 15, while Sirens Star {Star Witness}, 5th in the trial, won at Canterbury first-up on November 25. These are terrific form-lines for a horse that was trialing over an unsuitable distance, and that will be far better placed moving to a country jurisdiction.

Open Sky goes to the line full of steam only beaten 2L, and finished alongside Godolphin horse Rosovo {Animal Kingdom (USA)} 7:2-2-1 $52,000.

For a horse that was purchased for $110,000, he’s been broken-in, done all his education, trials, and is just about ready to go to the races this is a great opportunity to get involved with a horse for a fraction of his original purchase price.

Shares start at $1300.00 for 5%. Costs include purchase price, PDS, transport, vet certificate, registration, transfers, and all associated costs until the end of December.
Ongoing costs are fixed at $200 + GST each month for 5%, no extras except for unexpected vet call outs, surgeries, feature race nominations, or anything out of the ordinary etc.
