A lovely, tried horse pick-up, rising 5yo mare Ciao Uno (Super One), the first foal of 4 x city winning mare, Ciao (Not A Single Doubt) to be trained by Cameron Crockett at Scone. Ciao Uno Form
Ciao Uno has raced 17 times, for 2 wins and 7 placings around the strong NSW Hunter, and Central Coast region, she is a super honest mare and we identified her as a great low risk entry level purchase.
Last preparation Ciao Uno was a winner first-up at Muswellbrook in a class 1 over 900m after racing three-wide the whole way. (See video below, green colours)
Ciao Uno then went on to run 2nd twice at Port Macquarie, in a class 2 & benchmark 66, both those races have produced 8 subsequent winners! She then ran 3rd in a benchmark 64 at Gosford (see video below, green colours) and finished alongside a horse (Irish Kisses) that won a benchmark 68 at Hawkesbury soon after.
These form links are a key piece of the puzzle when sourcing tried horses. Ciao Uno is performing very well in strong races and when you consider that her current benchmark rating is 61, she can be so well-placed to take advantage of her benchmark rating on the country circuit in an easier jurisdiction. A workable rating for where we will be sending her.
Both her wins have come when first-up. She has been spelling for 9-weeks and ready to come straight back into work where she can be prepared for a first-up win, and having only won 2 races she will be eligible for TAB highway races after 3 runs for her new trainer. Another reason why we believe she is a great value buy. We picked her up at just the right time!
To be trained by Cameron Crockett at Scone. Cameron is enjoying a terrific season firmly entrenched in the top 10 NSW country trainer’s premiership.
Shares start at $950 for 5%. Costs include purchase price, PDS, transport, vet certificate, registration, transfers, and all training and agistment costs until the end of August.
Ongoing costs are fixed at $200 + GST each, and every month for 5%, no extras except for unexpected vet call outs, surgeries, feature race nominations, or anything out of the ordinary etc.
